Do you ever sit on a park bench for more than ten minutes?
No, I have ever done such a thing unless the park bench is inside, then I probably have. The closest thing to a bench I’ve sat on for more than ten minutes would be the bench in the mall while waiting for my mom to finish her shopping. I’m not into shopping. I’m more of a grab the necessity, pay, and go kind of person.
When you lose electricity in a storm, do you light the candles, turn on the flashlight or use your cell phone for light?
As I pointed out in a few of my previous posts, I have anxiety issues. Therefore, whenever the power or one of the utilities goes out, I get very nervous and oftentimes, my hands would begin to shake and I would begin to feel extremely frustrated because it feels like something’s wrong even though it’s a perfectly normal thing to lose power from time to time. To reassure myself, I usually bring in these battery-powered outdoor camping lights. These things are so bright that it makes me feel like we have power again.
Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers?
Recently, I read my horoscope on my calendar. It read, “It’s going to be a rough year. Don’t be greedy with the money that’s not yours, be conservative.” Thus, I will not be greedy, I will take the $100,000 and donate it to a charity which will then distribute it to strangers.
What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
A few weeks ago, I went to Home Depot, hoping to have a salt-less water softener installed in my home. The man at Home Depot told me I must do it through a licensed plumber and that he would set me up with an appointment for a free estimate. After missing the call, I found out from the voicemail it’s the same company that installed the furnace at our previous home.
My mom does not like that company and told me to ignore the call.
At lunch on Thursday, the company called once again to ask me to set up a free estimate with no obligation to buy. I didn’t want to tell this lady I no longer want a water softener because I really need it at the moment. So I set up an appointment for next Wednesday afternoon which resulted in I have to take the afternoon off.
The point to the story is I appreciated that call. I felt so burned out at work that I wanted to take some time off but I don’t have a good reason to do so. The company I work for seems to have a strict rule of not letting employees use vacation time off without proper reason. So I’m glad this phone call gave me a reason to start my Thanksgiving break one-half day early.

if I sit at a park bench that long the poh-leese stop by and say “Move along!”

Hm for me those $10,000 would be mine — I’d save some, donate some, invest some and give the rest to my parents. 😀

That’s a good choice too.

I need to get some of those camping lamps! When the power goes out I light candles.

I think those lamps are a safer alternative to candle, at least you never have to worry about fire danger around them.

That’s true! Do you get them at a sporting goods store?

I’m not sure where I got it, probably Walmart. It was quite a few years ago.
