#WeekendCoffeeShare: A Better Week

Good Saturday morning! Thank you for joining me. Get out of the rain and come in to the warmth for some drinks! Coffee? Tea?

If we were having hot drinks, I would tell you it’s been raining on and off since Thursday and according to the weather report, this rain is supposed to stop by Tuesday. I think Mother Nature is trying to make up for the lack of snow this winter by pounding us with wind and rain.

Wind is the last thing I need at the moment. Not only the howling is disruptive and scary, the backyard fence next door (my previous home) was blew down by the wind not once but three times during the last three days and when my mom’s anxious about the fence, I’m anxious too.

I think that fence is pretty much done. I don’t think there’s fixing it. I think it might be wise just to build a new fence.

As for my week, this week has sure been a better week than the last. I did quite a bit of hard labor this week and I’m still paying for it with sore back and sore muscles, though I felt good doing it.

What did I do?

I tilled the soil in my backyard to prepare for spring planting. I pulled out all the weeds along the fence line and disposed the remains of the morning glories from last summer. It was hard work and I have the cuts, sprinters, and scratches on my hands to prove it. I couldn’t wear any gloves because they were all too big for me. I slipped them on and they slid right off.

On Thursday, I went to Costco and purchased a large bag of Dahlia bulbs. I suppose having a five-color combination dahlia is cheaper than getting those tiny potted plants at Lowe’s. I might plant them today if it doesn’t rain. I think it’s the perfect time, since the soil is wet.

If we were having hot drinks, I would tell you I have been going to church again. I discovered a small baptist church at the mouth of the neighborhood. Last Sunday, I attended the service and I quite enjoyed it. Wednesday was prayer night, which I also attended. I enjoyed that too. I met some wonderful people and made some new friends. I also began reading the bible in my spare time when I’m not blogging or doing chores and discovered the bible helped me improve my mood.

If we were having hot drinks, I would tell you just as I was giving up on this part-time remote (work from home) job opportunity because I didn’t get any replies after two weeks, I finally heard back and had an interview yesterday. I wonder, could it be a sign? Anyway, the HR lady told me the interview process can take up to two months and that I still have two more interviews to go through. However, she said she will be my contact for the whole journey. Does this mean I passed the interview?

If we were having hot drinks, I would thank you for joining me this weekend and hope to see you again next weekend.

  1. Aw I’m glad to read you are going to church and reading the word! I promise it makes such a huge difference in your life when you stay consistent and grow closer to him. It makes all the difference in my own life and brings me so much contentment and joy no matter what life throws my way! Good luck with your spring planting!

    • I agree. Going to church this past week has lifted me spiritually, made me feel less depressed and more hopeful. Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. Honestly, yes in this economy, even with experience under your belt, job competition is difficult, especially remotely. It can just take time, especially as you are still near to to the time you complete your degree. For some of my friends it took anywhere from 6 months to a bit more than a year. Best of luck. You should be able to find children’s gardening gloves, or some kind of glove that fits you, even lab gloves a box of those, without the powder on the inside, might be better than nothing. I’m happy you found a good church and hope things are going better with your Mom. Happy weekend! 💕🙏🏻
