#AtoZChallenge 2018 – G for Green

I began the week with a color (on Monday, it was B for Blue) and I think I will end the week with a color. I love this shade of green. It feels so lively and… spring, doesn’t it? I snapped this photo over a week ago when outside was warm and beautiful, when I thought spring is finally here. I stand corrected because this week has been the opposite of spring – dark skies, cooler temperatures, and rain. As much as I love the rain, I don’t appreciate the gloomy skies. It makes me so blue and depressed.

Anyway, that afternoon, I went out to check on my newly planted dahlias, to see if there were any signs of life. Nope, not yet. It had only been about two weeks then and the bag read these bulbs will bloom late-summer, so probably not yet.

After checking on my flowers, I noticed how long the grass had grown and how green it was. Oh, and let’s don’t forget to mention these little blue wildflowers.

So I went back into the house, ran upstairs to my room and grabbed my camera. The blue flowers were very difficult to shoot. I had to get down on my hands and knees and blindly aim the camera at the flowers. I say blindly because the sun was shining directly at the camera screen, making it impossible to see. Thankfully, out of the five shots, I managed to get a good one.

As I sat against the fence, away from the sun, viewing the pictures, I noticed the grass from this perspective. I can’t explain it. They look like they are under the sun’s spotlight. So I changed my position from sitting to kneeling and with my camera at ground level, I once again snapped away blindly.

  1. We are getting rain as wind from the pineapple express. Flooding in various areas. It is spring time in the Noise area and we always had floods in the spring. It used to flood out a lot of Girl scout activities in the spring. The ground needs to warm up for the Dahl is bulbs to grow. I like them very much Good Luck.

  2. Lovely photos. Spring is late to the party here, but I know she will be dazzling us when she arrives with her green. I love, love, love Spring green which is luminous and unlike any other color. My winter-weary eyes are so ready for it.
