When I saw this week’s topic, these were the two pictures that immediately came into my mind. In the first picture, the way the rope was positioned, it looked like a ring around that yellow wild flower. This photo was taken on a ranch near my hometown of Zhongshan in China.
For some reason, the word “ring” makes me think of roundabout which brings us to the second photo. I shot this photo during my road trip to Canada in 2017. That magnificent building in the background is none other than the Banff Hotel. And how does this photo relate to the topic of ring? The metal columns form a ring around the statue in the middle of the roundabout, doesn’t it?

I think China is a large place and weather varies greatly depending on the region. Therefore, flowers vary too.

It is a good ground cover. It seed is a spine. There is one similar here that has a spine for seed that is deadly to tires. One of it common name is puncture weed.

I think I have seen that tiny yellow flower on one of my hikes. So it’s probably a common wildflower.
