Friday Fictioneers: Christmas Bedtime Story

They call this the “Scrooge Farm”. Instead of Christmas decoration each year, around Christmas, there would be scarecrows dressed in rags and sandbags for heads popping up in random places ’round the farm. Now, no one has ever seen the owner as there’s no house on the hundred-acre property.

“Why’d you stop, Grandma?” Colby asked. He was yawning a moment ago but now wide-awake.

“Yeah, Grandma, keep going.” Sally jumped on the bed, any hint of drowsiness had dissipated.

Oh my, Grandma thought frantically, what have I done? She cleared her throat, “I’ll only continue if y’all go to bed.”
