Friday Fictioneers: Showtime

“Re…lax,” I inhale and exhale, dragging the word, doing everything to calm the tension in my body. I shouldn’t be this nervous. Come on, I’m performing to a crowd on Zoom, not some important figure.

You would think I should be used to this by now. After all, I’ve been performing almost non-stop since 2015 but after an uninspiring 2020 plus lock-down, I now feel so strange and out of it, like it’s my first show all over again. I inhale and blow out a large breath, “You can do this.” I say loudly. “It’s just like riding a big girl bike.”

    1. I would imagine so because the audience has always been a part of the show and I know it’s very hard to get the genuine audience’s reaction on any virtual platform.
