This week, on Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #167, Amy is our host and she’s chosen the theme of Colors of Autumn.
I don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned on this blog, I love Autumn and look forward to this every year but especially this year because it’s a respite from the ridiculous heat that’s been plaguing the majority of the Western U.S this year. It’s never been this hot before, at least not this many days above 100-degrees.
According to articles I’ve read online, this autumn is a little wonky. As the result of the heat, plants are going dormant sooner than usual. So I most likely missed the colors this year but hey, there’s always last year’s photos of that perfect day to go on a hike and witness all the layers of leaf colors.
I hope you enjoy this selection.
My favorite season, for a lot of the same reasons… nice weather, colors, light. Funky color changes here too, and still getting the settling smoke from the miles of still smoldering trees. Smells rather like a mesquite BBQ this morning.

That’s not good. I remember it’s how it smelled here too just a few weeks ago. I hope the air clears up for you soon.
