These are some photos of leaves taken in the past.
For the last two weekends, mom and I had been vigorously raking and cleaning the leaves in the backyard. We have usually done this task in October right after first frost when all the leaves on the trees would all fall off overnight but we haven’t had the first frost of 2021 yet so the trees have been taking their sweet time, letting a handful of leaves go at a time.
For some reason, having leaves in the yard annoys mom as if having trees doesn’t mean having leaves. I don’t mind having leaves fallen on the ground, it’s how it looks in nature anyway and I hear leaves makes wonderful mulch for bare soil, prevent it from getting too moisture in the winter so I won’t have to see the icky green things on top of the soil when spring comes.

Spectacular photography of your leaves, Yinglan! From the delicate single images to the last two with the sun rays and the close-up of the frozen, fallen leaves, you chose a gorgeous representation of fallen leaves. Well done!
