Boom, Boom, Boom.
Ethan moans in his sleep.
Boom, Boom, Boom, it comes again.
“Go away, you son of a bitch!” Ethan half moans, half shouts, flapping his right arm like he’s pushing somebody away while in reality, he’s facing down on his couch, beers cans and bottles strew about the ugly dark green carpet in a way that makes the apartment dark no matter how the lighting is improved.
Boom, Boom, Boom, comes the pounding the third time.
Hoisting himself up to a standing position, Ethan yanks his jeans up to his hips and drags his legs to the door. “Okay, okay, I’m coming!”
Upon wrenching open the ugly red door to his apartment, he comes face to face, well, face to chest, with the giant on the other side of the doorway. “Well, who are you?” Ethan demands, taking a stumbling step back from the door. I should not had drunk that last bottle last night, he thinks regretfully.
“Are you Ethan?” The giant asks.
“I’m going to ask again, ‘who the f*** are you?'” He swears.
“I’m the person who’s picking you up for the Millionaire Mansion.”
“W-wait, wait, that’s real?” Ethan blurts.
The giant takes off his sunglasses, revealing his large brown, round as marble eyes, not at all appear to be happy to hear the tone of disbelieve in Ethan’s voice. “I can assure you it is very real and as much as I would like to stand and explain, we are running late as it is. So if you will please,” he steps aside, clearing the path for Ethan.
“Um, can’t you let me pack first?”
“You had your chance,” the giant says impatiently, “now, let’s go.”
