“Dude, wake up.”
“Mmm.” What’s the matter with this guy? It’s the weekend, it’s cold, let me sleep!
“Sis, dude, wake the hell up, dad’s gone crazy!” That got my attention.
“Huh, what?”
“He’s taking me driving this morning.”
“So, isn’t that what you always wanted?”
“Not when the ground is iced over with 6 inches of snow, I can’t even walk without slipping.”
A few hours later…
Doors slamming and shouting made me jump from my cozy spot on the couch. “What happened?”
“What did I tell you? I couldn’t do it. I can’t even walk without slipping, how do you expect me to operate a vehicle when there are snow and ice everywhere?!”
