“Isn’t it incredible?” Sara scoffs as she stares at the wilting rose in front of her. “A man thinks he can get away with anything just by sending his lady flowers.”
“Hmm?” Helena says on the other end of the line, sounding distracted or disinterested.
“I bet he’s up to something,” Sara narrows her eyes as her imagination heads into overdrive, “and I intend to find out.”
That seems to trigger Helena’s interest. “What are you going to do? Spy on him?”
“That…isn’t a bad idea.”
A day later…
“I can’t believe I forgot.” Sara shrieks. “It was our Anniversary.”
