Share Your World – Week of October 17, 2022

1.  When you go food shopping, do you go with a list or amble down the aisles putting things in your basket or cart that you fancy or think you need?

I don’t really get to shop on my own these days as my mom uses my accident against me each time I want to go out on my own. When I do get the chance, I tend to go in with a mental list of things I want to buy but I also often manage to walk out with more than I hope to buy, simply because I can’t help but wander down every aisles to see what’s good. After all, I don’t get many opportunities to be on my own.

2.  When the temperatures drop for the colder months, is there a specific date you put the heating on or do you flick the switch when you start to feel cold?

Unfortunately, I don’t get to decide that date despite it’s my house. How I feel is often ignored. My mom turns on the heat when she feels cold working in the corner of the living room. I’m afraid this year might be later as she walks the treadmill every hour during work hours working up a sweat while I’m sitting in my room, trying to get my work done while hugging a boiling mug of tea.

3. Keeping with the cold theme, do you prefer a hot water bottle or an electric blanket at night?

I’m not a fan of neither. Fortunately, my down alternative comforter does a great job of trapping my body heat and using that to keep me plenty warm at night.

4.  How do you feel about log burners? Do you think they are messy or cozy?

Log burners feel so 18th Century! I think where I live prohibits wood burning of any kind because the air quality get awful during the winter months. I would imagine they can be quite cozy on a cold winter night but if I want cozy, I think I’ll settle for my brand-new fireplace.

Gratitude:
When was the last time you laughed out loud?

Oh I laugh daily as I watch prank shows on YouTube. That is just about the only thing that can get a chuckle out of me these days. I guess something is better than nothing.

    1. The thing is, my mother often tells me she’s letting me do what I want but in reality, I can only do what she wants, not what I want. It does feel difficult of not getting to do what you want especially when you are a grown-up, not a child.

  1. I usually use lists at my husband’s request. We didn’t yesterday, and it resulted in poor communication. He doesn’t hear well and gets grumpy easily because of it. Since lists help him, I’m a fan. If I’m on my own, mental lists are good enough. 🙂
