Share Your World – Week of December 5, 2022

Do you have a favorite outfit you like to wear?

I don’t have a favorite outfit. I dress for comfort. It’s usually sweat-pants (jogging pants) plus a t-shirt and jacket for winter and shorts and t-shirt for summer. It’s usually too hot or too cold to dress fancy. I only dress fancy – khakis and dress shirt – when I have an important event. Otherwise, I don’t see why I have to be in uncomfortable clothing when I’m just going to be at home all day.

What is the worst thing you were forced to wear as a child (school uniforms aside) ?

My paternal family used to have this thing about wearing socks over the pant legs. For example, if you have on a pair of long pants, the leg of the sock would go over the leg of the pants.

I didn’t like it and would often pull the pant legs over the socks whenever they’re not looking. My grandmother, however, would always re-do it for me so I wouldn’t risk punishment from my grandfather.

It looks absolutely embarrassingly horrible, not to mention unfashionable even in the 90’s. It just about made me swear off wearing socks forever. Right now, I will only wear no-show socks so I won’t have my socks sticking out.

Do you have a sweet tooth, and if so, are you a chewer, cruncher, or sucker?

I have a savory tooth these days, not a sweet tooth. I used to, though, a few years ago before the pandemic. I believe I was a chewer. There used to be a large basket filled with suckers at the office. I didn’t enjoy those because they required me to hold it in one hand and I need two hands to work.

So I became a chewer. I like to chew hard candies – jolly rancher, butterscotch, etc. I find it gives my jaws work to do because otherwise, I’d be grinding my teeth.

Do you think you could eat your weight in chocolate?

Um, no. That would be an insane amount of chocolate and as much as I love chocolate, I can’t even consume 1% of my body weight.
