Final Thoughts of 2022

I’m pretty sure these won’t be my last thoughts on 2022 as I have a few posts pending to be posted in the upcoming days but these will be pretty darn close to being my last 2022 thoughts as I’m writing this on the 29th of December, 2022.

As I’m sitting here, reflecting on what I’ve done this week, I realize this has been a surprisingly productive week. I really should take breaks from work from time to time because I realize I like to do other things than work like exercise, read, go to the library, and learn stuff.

From my post last weekend, I mentioned:

I have several things planned (perhaps too ambitious?) like taking another crack at getting myself certified in Quickbooks Online Advanced, write some short stories, and possibly start working on the A-Z Blogging Challenge in April 2023 (too soon?).

Thoughts on this Christmas Eve

This week, during my week-long break from work, I began the course load on getting my Quickbooks advanced certification. It turned out the course load is not as short as I remembered from my last attempt in 2019. As I’m writing this, I’m about one-third of the way through the self-paced course. After the course, I’ll begin the test prep before taking the exam. By my estimation, I should be ready to take the exam at the end of January. 🤞

I haven’t written any short stories but I have started working on my A-Z blogging challenge for 2023. I have a brand new theme. It’s a bit strange but it’ll be fun. I’m looking forward to the unveiling.

Aside from this, I have also been working on my Archival blog – This is Another Archive. I’m moving some of my older posts to this site starting on New Year’s Day (tomorrow) to hopefully give me back some storage space on this blog. I am starting with the flash fiction stories written for photo prompts that are no longer running with the exception of Friday Fictioneers. There will be a post every day (hopefully) and I, for one, am looking forward to re-read some of my old stuff again.

I also have been reading this week.

After over 2 years of keeping my tablet off in my desk drawer, I started using my tablet again because I have trouble reading on my phone’s Kindle app. Thankfully, my tablets still works.

I’ve been finding joy in reading magazines. I finished 2 magazines this week – Reader’s Digest and National Geographic – and on the verge of finishing reading a third – Photography magazine. I am finding so much creative and photography inspirations in these magazines and when I’m inspired, I feel happy and hopeful.

I haven’t been to the library in probably over a decade and I made a trip there this week. I forgot how much I liked the library and why I had stopped going. The quiet was calming and soothing for my busy brain from constantly conjuring worst case scenarios. I checked-out a book on last words uttered by famous people as well as 2 books on gardening.

I also went on a hike this week. It was probably my first and last hike of 2022 but that’s okay as I’m sure there’ll be more adventures coming in 2023.

It was a short hike as it was freezing cold that day. I got some great photos, time alone in nature, as well as a scolding from my mom when I got back for being selfish and running off to the mountain again. Oh well, it’s not the first time and I can guarantee it won’t be the last.

  1. You have some great plans for the new year.
I like the idea of starting a new blog just for your older posts. I wonder if you delete from this one, it will still stay on a new one. I could sure use the space on mine.
    Love your snow photos!
    Happy New Year! ❤

    1. It should because the posts are copied to the other site, not linked. I just hope it will clear out enough storage for me to post new images. I have already scheduled the posts on my archive blog until daylight saving, which is another challenge because WP struggles with it.
      Happy new year! 😊🎉🎉🎉
