Before I moved to Utah, someone told me, “You will be wearing your winter coat for 9 months of the year.” I would now tell that someone, “No, I don’t wear my winter coat 9 months out of the year, I wear it for 6 months (October to April), 7 max.”

WQ #5: Chilly, Icy, and Snowy
It’s been beyond chilly here lately. Temperatures were in the single-digits at the start of the week and I’m talking about single-digits Fahrenheit, not Celsius. Not to mention there was a wind chill warning. Add on the wind chill and that single digit automatically drop to the other side of zero.

Final Thoughts of 2022
I’m pretty sure these won’t be my last thoughts on 2022 as I have a few posts pending to be posted in the upcoming days but these will be pretty darn close to being my last 2022 thoughts as I’m writing this on the 29th of December, 2022.

#SundayStills – Light the Night
Like probably a lot of people, I, too, tend to feel a little down during the winter months.

I am a simple person with simple desires and when it comes to getting cozy especially during winter, my go-to is minimalistic at its best – just a cup of rich and delightful hot cocoa and somewhere that’s warm.
Like how this cat is curled up comfortably on the couch by the fireplace that was behind me, that spot feels like somewhere I would park for the afternoon.
Here is my favorite way to staying warm and cozy during winter – head to a ski resort, ride the tram to the top, if there’s a restaurant or lodge, head inside, order a steamy cup of hot cocoa with whipped cream and preferably marshmallow, and finally find a seat with the view. Now, that, in my vocabulary, is a simple person’s luxury.
Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #161: Feet and Shoes
This week, on Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #161, Ann-Christine assigned, in my opinion, a rather strange topic – Feet and Shoes.
Immediately, this picture sprang to mind. I shot this during my last visit to China in 2018 when I visited the museum in my hometown. It was quite an interesting tour as I got to see the transition from eastern culture to western culture. Though they look real, these are actually plastic figures to illustrate the point of opening the first shopping mall in China.
Is it weird I still have these boots? Even after 5 years? I should’ve thrown them away long ago – they are so incredibly heavy that each step I take feels like I’m dragging bricks. It’s so hard to find winter shoes that fit these days.
