Please note this is fiction!
“Come on, girls. You know the routine. Work it!” In the mirror, I watch myself move in sync to the rhythm of the music and my body swaying in all the right places. I turn to watch my girls. They, too, look great. No jiggling. All tone, no curves.
I feel so proud of all the hard work I’ve done over the summer from running 4 miles daily and eating all the right food. The girls, too, followed my routine. They don’t eat anything that has not been “Leslie-approved”.
“Looking good!”
Today may be the first day of the new school year, the truth, I never stopped after the last school year ended in June. My girls and I have been training intensively every day while on our down times, we go through our yearbooks, predicting who will try out and who we must never let on the team, no matter how good they perform in tryouts. It’s a small sacrifice to make to maintain my social standing in this dog-eat-dog world. No one can stand at the top of the social food chain but me.
Tryouts have been going on since 7 this morning and since then, I’ve probably had 4 shots of espresso. I’m pumped. I’m wide awake. Let’s get this senior year rolling.

This Leslie sounds like a dangerous character

I think she’s just a go-getter going a little too far.
