#SundayStills: #Feathered Pals

This week, on #SundayStills, hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure Perspectives, we are having fun with our #feathered pals, since I don’t have any #furred friends.

When I visited the UK in May, I noticed a few things – there was a lot of birds, there was a lot of statues, and there was a lot of birds standing on statues. This was one of them, standing on the statue outside of St. Giles Cathedral, which got quite a few tourists’ attention.

Another thing I noticed was fat pigeons. Lots and lots of fat, plump pigeons roaming the streets of England and Scotland like it’s their home turf. I don’t think I have ever seen chubby pigeons in the U.S.

Finally, I have been attempting for years to photograph this bird at home but each time I aimed a camera at them, they seem to be able to detect it and fly away. I at last got this picture in Edinburgh when this bird was standing so still that I could get a few shots of him. I love the color of its plume, the color is absolutely gorgeous, isn’t it?
