I decided to join in this week’s Nature Photo Challenge, hosted by Denzil of Denzil’s Nature.
This first picture is just about the only picture of a “waterplant” I have in my archive. It’s a water-lily I saw in a Buddhist temple during my 2017 trip to China.
I live in the landlocked state of Utah, where the largest body of water is the Great Salt Lake and summer is always the driest months of the year. If it rains during the summer, it will be apocalypse because rain is that rare during the summer. Therefore, we do not have much water-plants, if at all.
This picture is also from my 2017 trip to China. This was taken in my grandmother’s hometown. I loved visiting these small plots of farmland when I was a child and it was here I began to harbor the dream to be a gardener. Now, having been a serious gardener of 3 years, though I will never have such a manmade river in my backyard nor will I ever grow plants like watercress, I always enjoy seeing and getting inspired by other gardens and farms.

Thanks for entering my Nature Photo Challenge Yinglan, with this beautiful water lily.
