Friday Fictioneers: Eyes are Everywhere


Quiet as a mouse, he slipped into the seat across from me. Putting aside the coke I’ve been sipping, I leaned in. “Why, of all places, did we have to meet here, in this podunk joint?”

Giving the place a quick glance, he pulled a manila envelope from inside his trench coat and slid it across the table. “You must be very careful with this. Eyes are everywhere.”

I rolled eyes and sighed, pulling an envelope of 100-dollar bills, “Here,” I said and got up.

In the back office, he sat watching the monitor. Eyes are everywhere, indeed there are.

  1. We certainly see cameras everywhere! I am often tempted to make a face or stick out my tongue when I spot them in stores 🙂

    Does the watcher let them go on their way, as others track them on the streets? One wonders.
