Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #264: Primary Colors

Happy Sunday! This week, on Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #264, Sofia of the blog, Photographias, invites us to share pictures and stories about primary colors.

As a kid growing up in China, a lot of my happy memories revolved around these decorative lanterns. I remember the lanterns would be up during the Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival. There were always some new, creative, and exciting designs to see. When I visited in 2017, I didn’t think I would be excited to see these lanterns during Lunar New Year and, boy, was I wrong. It brought back so many happy memories.

When I first saw these red chairs in the Canadian National Parks, I had no idea what they were about and why they were in such strange places. It turned out they were there to help visitors relax and connect with nature. My aunt couldn’t get enough pictures of these chairs. She enjoyed posing in them that I found it annoying that after so many pictures, I only got to sit for a few minutes before she was telling me to get up and move along.

Finally, whenever I visit a city, my favorite thing to see are skyscrapers. Living in suburbia and in a state that’s quite lacking in skyscrapers, it’s become somewhat of a novelty item in my mind. Therefore, when I visit the heart of a large city, some of my first photos is to look up and take a picture of the tall buildings.
