Do you share your personal information with your friends in real life or on line?
Do you believe in sharing with friends such news or do you consider it over sharing? What is the protocol for sharing news about family, with friends?
First of all, I will assume you’re not talking about credit card number and other types of identifications. I will assume you’re asking about whether I share personal details about my life.
Secondly, if you’ve followed this blog long enough, you would know I don’t have friends outside of work and home. My closest friend and confidant is my blog and I share my life with it because it’s my only safe space to share my joy, sadness, anger, and frustration. There’s no one in my real life with whom I can share that with.
I rarely share any sort of news with my mom unless it pertains to my health because she tends to over-react to everything anyone says. So why should I bother wasting my energy on her lectures? Therefore, this blog is my only place and the safest place for me to share anything deep below the surface, like my feelings and mental states.
Do I consider that to be over-sharing? Sometimes, but I feel I’m pretty good at filtering the information. I don’t have any specific protocol regarding sharing news but I do keep most of it to myself.

Glad to be here to give you some company ☕

I’m so sorry Yinglan that despite being her daughter, and living in the same house, your mom isn’t the friend and the confidante you need. We welcome your confidences. Thanks for sharing my friend

Yes, it’s a shame I don’t have a confidant in real life but I’m glad I found one online.
