#SundayStills: #Bridges

I love to look at any city from a high vantage point because it always amazes me to see how dense the city really. This is a look at Osaka, Japan from the Umeda Sky Building – a 140-m building in the heart of Osaka. Looking at the bridges, I was frankly surprised by how different they are.

After visiting the Umeda Sky Building that day, we – my mom, her friend, and I – took a taxi down to the pier to catch a short cruise. Instead of sitting in the lowest deck with mom and her friend, I went to the top deck to be by myself and I’m glad for that. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have so many pictures.

As the boat turned around, I found myself fixated on this red bridge. There’s something about it that was attracting my attention but what? I can’t say.

What’s a trip to Osaka without taking a boat ride in the Dotonbori (or is it on?). The Dotonbori is the place where the waterway narrows. My hotel is located right above the water. It makes me be more aware of my belongings every time I head out because I’m on the 5th floor on an open-air corridor. If I’m not careful and it falls into the water, it’s goner.

Anyway, this was where the boat turned around as the water is blocked off ahead. I found it interested how close the bridges looked.

Finally, this is an interesting bridge, isn’t it? Mom asked as the boat went under the bridge, “why would they let the plants die?

Beats me.

  1. One of our favorite cities. Don’t forget to go out at night or the blue hour. You might try Shinsaibashi which is a shopping, food and entertainment location. It is next where you are. You can take a river cruise rather than bump into people and kill your feet. It goes through the heart of things.

Oh yeah, res is an eye catching color. The bridge is red.

    1. Oh, as much as I want to go out at night, I couldn’t. Too tired, mom wants me asleep, and shopping, food, and entertainment, not interested. The river cruise was nice, we did that at 1 in the afternoon.
