Hello November 2023!

Can you believe we are approaching the end of 2023?

Also, was it me or did October felt like it went on longer than it should had been. Honestly, it felt like it on longer in my mind, perhaps it was because the nights were getting longer and days were getting shorter? Or was it because I was going through one of the slower months at work?

What went on in October?

Honestly, I can’t think of anything major that went on in October. I was sick for much of the first 2 weeks in October. It wasn’t any major sickness, just your run-of-the-mill cold – sneezing and a stuffy nose and running nose – nothing more than a minor annoyance.

I also spent much of it pulling plants and burying plant scraps in the garden. Much of the garden is hopefully asleep at the moment, while unconsciously performing important work deep beneath the soil surface, which is breaking down plant roots and scraps to revitalize the soil for next season. I’m looking forward to next gardening season and sure hope it comes soon.

I got a sneak peek at the autumn colors in the mountains at the beginning of the month. I didn’t feel the same level of excitement as I’ve felt in past years when I saw autumn colors. Maybe it was because of the amount of green that still lingered?

This morning, I went out to uncover my berry patch and discover the leaves of my blueberry bush had turned bright red. When the leaves of a blueberry bush turn red, it means it’s thirsty. Poor thing, I haven’t watered in a couple of days but then, I want it asleep otherwise, it won’t be rejuvenated and grow next spring.

What am I looking forward in November?

After completing a virtual escape room with my co-workers yesterday (which was fun), we discussed Christmas party plans and group activity, which is always fun. There will be a group activity in November and that’s always something to look forward to.

This morning, I checked the schedule on my other blog – This is Another Archive – and it looks like I have a series scheduled to be published each Thursday in November. To be honest, I don’t remember much about this series. Perhaps, I was having an out-of-body experience when I was writing this, sometimes I have that when I write stories. So I’ll be reading along.

Lastly, I’m looking forward to sharing a story on Story Chat later this month. After much debate in my head, I decided to rewrite one of the oldest stories I’ve ever written. It’s one that’s been sitting in the depth of my computer files and never seen the light of day. So I’m looking forward (and nervous at the same time) to get some feedback on that one.

  1. I’ve been away from the real computer and internet for so long, maybe I missed something, not sure what story chat is….. I like catching up with some bloggers I have seen for a long time and who like you take the time to pop up and see my posts, thanks. I have stories Mr. wrote we are trying to decide how to put them somewhere, either on one of my blogs, or make a new blog for his own perhaps not sure yet. Alot has changed in wp also 😛

    1. Story Chat is this open story challenge by a fellow blogger for a selection of writers to submit a short story 500 – 1500 words and get some actual feedback on the story as opposed to the usual “like”.
Ah, thank you for reading. 🙂 People come and go in the WP world but I haven’t noticed many changes.
