This week, a simple question: Are you a good patient?

Some people get cranky and don’t cooperate with their caregivers or doctors when they fall sick. That just delays the healing process. Are you one of them or do you help your caregivers and try to get better soon?

I am not sure how to answer this question. I rarely get sick, usually only once or twice a year. Mom doesn’t get sick easily, either. Then when I do get sick, mom wouldn’t come near me or try to take care of me. She’s the kind of person who will stay faraway to protect herself rather than help the person to get better.

Besides, I do prefer to be left alone when I’m sick. I don’t think there are better caretaker than ourselves especially when we’re sick as no one knows our own body better than us.

So I don’t know the answer to this question as I’m always the one to take care of myself when I’m sick. If my body tells me to stay down and rest, I’ll usually listen and not force myself to get up. After all, we both want to get well ASAP.
