US-Canada Trip 2022 Day 2

14,735 steps or 5.65 miles. That was how many steps I walked yesterday after arriving at Buffalo-Niagara Airport at about a quarter past six in the morning after getting almost no sleep for over 24 hours. I was surprised I made it this far without cracking up.

I suspect it’s the adrenaline and excitement that’s keeping me awake.

Anyway, mom and I spent about 4 hours at Niagara Falls State Park before calling it quits for the day and making our way to the hotel. Niagara Falls State Park is located in Niagara Falls, New York.

We joined a cruise – Maid of the Mist – and took a boat down to the falls and let me tell you, it was epic. As we got near to the fall, I began to feel like I was being pelted with buckets of water. It wasn’t just mists anymore. It was a full-on drench.

My camera failed me then, telling me the battery was out of juice when it wasn’t true. I suspect it had something to do with the water.

I switched to my phone, which was also almost out of juice – about 29% left. Google Maps really squeezes the life of my phone.

I couldn’t properly examine my camera to make sure it was okay until we got back to the dock. Thankfully, it was okay and it was just having a moment. Overall, my camera did good. The new lens did not disappoint.

I can’t recall how many times I saw a rainbow at Niagara Falls. Too many. They were everywhere and I’ll bet they’ll show up in my photos. I just haven’t examined all of them yet.

  1. Yay! All is well then, at the end of the rainbow. Gold. Time with mom. I know, but this will be your fond memory one day. Enjoy every minute. I know moms are like Last Chance Harvey and The Medler, but we have to get quite old before we believe we have taught you everything we know and then you can teach us everything you know. Happy holidays.
