Friday Fictioneers: The Truth

Please Note: 100% fiction!

“I don’t understand, Tony.” Rowena said. “I gave you a full belly, roof over your head, where are you going that’s more important than school? Your principal’s called me twice already about your absences. One more and you’re out.” She crossed her hand.

Tony fell silent. He couldn’t tell her foster mother about his sister, could he? About how she’s huddling for warmth in an abandoned warehouse? About how he’d gone daily to deliver food he’d get from the school cafeteria to keep her fed. Could he? He’d never told Rowena of his sibling, is it time he came clean?
