I don’t typically visit the ocean at this time of the year. For one thing, it’s much colder here than 20 miles inland but I have guests and their wish is my command.
So here we are, on the boardwalk.
As we headed toward the shops, I wonder what those people were looking at. Due to the strong icy wind, there’s been these observation boxes installed at points to help people stay warm. I found a spot next to a lady, “What are we looking at?”
Wordlessly, she raised her arm and pointed at the great whale in the distance.

Spectacular, a moment to marvel at the appearance of a whale. Lovely.

The sight of a whale is worth suffering a bit of cold sea air for.

One of the most exciting things I’ve ever done was a whale watch from Bar Harbor, Maine. They took us out to what they called a “Whale Park,” It was fabulous. I’ve been hooked on whales ever since 🙂

I would be hooked, too, if I ever see one. I’ve only ever seen it on TV and they sure are some majestic creatures.
