When are you most creative, writing wise?
What are the times you’re most creative? Do you, like me have to be at physical ease to be able to create with a good flow?
To be honest, I don’t know. The brain works in mysterious ways. There is no set time for when my creativity kicks in. Well, my creativity is always at work, running through scenarios whether as kicks to cause me anxiety or for a writing prompt.
From my experience, my creativity works best when I’m in a quiet environment and not the kind induced by wearing noise-cancelling earbuds. I mean the kind when it’s naturally quiet – when everyone is asleep or out of the house. My creativity also kicks in when I’m anxious or nervous about something. I’m not sure how it works but sometimes, I can see the pictures in my head a lot clearer when I’m under stress but, yes, my creativity is mysteriously and annoying sometimes.

I often think of posts as I’m laying in bed… trying to sleep but mind won’t turn off. I’m not wanting to disturb hubby I can’t get up to write my thoughts so I pray I’ll remember in morning. Often I do.

Post ideas used to come to me this way, too but these days, I’m usually so tired that I can sleep the moment my head hits the pillow.

I think I have evolved into an evening person. For years I’ve always been a morning person until it just stopped working for me. Rather than forcing it, I’ve embraced being an evening person. I work most of the week and it’s how I wind down at the end of the day. Weekends are a little different. I can sleep in more and can start my day off by writing.

I’m the same. I used to write in the morning but now, I have evolved to ending my day with writing.

Thank you Yinglan for sharing your experience. Yes indeed the creativity can kick in any time and under any circumstance.
