O is for Out of Touch.
When it comes to emotions, I feel incredibly out of touch. For the last two years or so, I have been somewhat hiding my emotions but now, I’m having trouble dragging them out. It’s the reason why I’ve picked this theme for my A-Z challenge.
To be honest though, I’ve always had trouble with my emotions, even as a child. I was always this quiet person who never objected to anything. Maybe that’s wrong and probably it’s what led to my current situation but it’s too late to fix what’s passed. I feel like I should’ve addressed this issue sooner or maybe it’s fate that I should learn about all the things I’ve been feeling in 2024. Either way, through this challenge, I’m now able to put words to my emotions.

So happy to hear you are feeling your feelings. It’s hard and not hard at the same time. Bottling things up can actually make you ill. I used to say when I cried a lot, long ago, tears water the face. But it is actually good to cry when you feel like crying. Others don’t always see it that way, but that’s okay too. So high five from this old granny who cares about you.

I’m trying and I think the most difficult part is trying to decipher among all the other feelings and forming the words in my head.

Good for you!
You may not have to let it all out but a small part of it can make you feel better

I think it’s the purpose of my blog – to let my feelings out – but it’s not always easy to put them in words.

It never too late- let others know how you feel- slowly and gently.

I’m not sure how without the other person either yelling at me or looking at me strangely.

I do hope you can find a way to convey your feelings.

I’m currently finding the only way to convey my feelings is through my blog.

That’s a good way to express yourself too. But I think those who live with you also need to know what’s going through your mind.

I think they do and have chosen to be ignorant about it.

That’s very unkind. My younger daughter is a little like you, keeping her thoughts to herself but recently she has started to express her feelings. It makes it easier for us to communicate with her

That’s great for her. I’ve been trying but every time I tried to talk to my mom, she would tell me to shut up or don’t talk to her, she’s watching YouTube, which never stops.

It is good for her and us too. I’m sorry that your mom has this attitude.

It’s very good, as you are now no doubt experiencing for yourself, to find an outlet for the inside stuff. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a confidante, a counsellor, a journal or a blog. It’s better out than in. Good on you.

Thank you. I agree, better out than in.

Writing is a good way to get in touch with your feelings and to explore them in a safe environment. Good luck!
