Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #296 – Abstracts

Happy Sunday! This week, Ritva is hosting Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #296 with the theme – Abstract.

I’m starting with an ICM (intentional camera movement) of a leaf. I don’t do many abstracts but sometimes, it is fun to try something new with the camera. I remember I was in a corner of the garden looking for things to photograph and then I saw the rows of bush beans in front of me. At first, I took close up photos of the leaves but then, I came up with this idea to intentional move the camera. I must say this looks somewhat like someone mixed different shades of green and tried it on a canvas.

This picture was taken with the 50-mm prime lens and it was the moment when I learned that sometimes, I don’t need auto-focus to be on. Sometimes, I just need to turn on manual-focus and look through and click the shutter button. Who knows, maybe these bokeh will be the only thing I’ll see one day when I’m old and blind.

Lastly, these were the photos that showed up when I typed “abstract” into my WP archive. I know there are quite a few more, probably just need to go into the media library and rename the photos. Anyway, the blue photo is the newest of the bunch. I took this one from the plane as I flew back from my trip to the UK nearly a year ago. The plane was a Boeing 787 with the button to change color on the window. I didn’t want to disturb the sleeping people so I didn’t turn the dial all the way to reveal the true color of the view outside the plane’s window. I think this was somewhere in northern Canada.
