“Aw, remember this?” Courtney said, holding up the photo of the old tree in our grandmother’s backyard. “Why is there a door there?”
I laughed and took the photo, “So the squirrels can have a proper home, because a proper home must have a door.” We said the last part in unison and laughed. “Good times.”
Courtney nodded in agreement, “What happened to that old tree?”
“To be honest, I’m not sure. I heard it got infested a few years ago and had to go.”
“Poor tree,” Courtney sighed.
“Poor tree. Poor squirrels. I hope they found a new home.”

I hope they found a new home too! Funny when we find old photos, old memories, that trigger these types of conversations with loved ones…this is such a good slice of life.

Yes, it’s funny sometimes how we can just look at an old photo and memories would come flooding back.

A nice nostalgic tone in this. I like the two characters reciting their grandmother’s words together. Lovely.

Poor squirrels indeed. I imagine they found a new home, and probably new families to entertain too. Lovely feeling of nostalgia here.
