Six Sentence Story: Light

My jaw dropped to the floor as I pulled my van up to her driveway, she was standing there with 4 large suitcases – the kind that you take when you’re trying to take everything you own when you’re moving to a new country or something. I put the van in park and gave my single duffel a somewhat-shameful glance in the rear-view mirror before cranking the window down, “Whoa, what happened to packing light?”

“This is light,” she somewhat snapped, “I’ve followed your orders and brought shoes, clothes, and neccessities.”

“We’ll only be gone for two weeks, how many pairs of shoes, jeans, and t-shirts does one need?” Suddenly, my plan to hike and camp in the mountains for a couple nights on the trip no longer seemed possible, way to go, inviting your only female friend along even though her personality is the except opposite of yours.

“Who said I’ll be wearing jeans and t-shirts?”

Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Light”.

    1. 😄😄😄 Oh, I think we all have our little quirks like looking at an overnight stay in the wilderness as fun. Me, on the other hand, hate packing. It’s why I love car trips, I don’t need to stuff everything into a suitcase.
