Do you favor dietary supplements- yes or no?
What about you: are you taking supplements or vitamins for your health? Are you influenced by the ads you see on social media or TV?
On a daily basis, I take 3 medications – one before breakfast and two after. For some of you, you may say, “3? That’s it? That’s nothing.” For me, it’s a lot. For a normal healthy person my age, one shouldn’t have a need to take prescription medication. Supplements perhaps, but not the ones prescribed by a doctor.
Short answer is, no, I don’t favor dietary supplements. I don’t get influenced by ads either.
I take enough medications, in my opinion. The only over-the-counter supplements I take are Vitamin D, which was suggested by the doctor because my body has difficulty taking in Vitamin D and a gummy multi-vitamin. My doctors won’t prescribe me any prescription Vitamin D because I’m on the “high-risk medication taker” list due to a medication I take for my lupus.
I’ve been told if one takes in a balanced diet on a daily basis, there’s no need for any kind of multi-vitamin supplement. The gummy multi-vitamin does not contain as many vitamins and minerals as the tablet kind. I’m taking it just to get a boost.

I don’t take any supplements and I don’t consider them necessary, but if some people have conditions that require taking vitamins and alike, it’s good to take them.

I was born with a body without the function to absorb calcium and vitamin D, so I need to take a medication that acts like a clutch and even then, my body has trouble taking in those two things.

I also take Vitamin D. I should also take calcium tabs which reminds me I-ve not taken them for a while but apart from those I try to eat a balanced diet. AND I am not influenced by ads.

Thank you. I’m just trying to prevent inflammations, which can be triggered with food.

Yes some foods, especially the processed foods can do that.

Absolutely! I love those but can’t have those 😭 but I’m finding some whole foods are just as good.
