What do you miss most, if anything, about your school days?
I don’t miss much about my school days. I was a loner for most of those days. I’m not sure whether I chose to be alone or whether I was rejected by others. Some days, I felt a reject while some days, I just wanted to be alone. The time in school I miss the most was the fall semester of my freshman year in high school, the brief period when I actually had a group of friends (at least I like to call them that) and felt like I belong. Those are the days I miss the most.
Did your school have its own sports field or swimming pool?
I don’t know about a swimming pool but there was always a field for all kind of sports – baseball, soccer, football, you name it. I was only there for PE where I ran around the track. Though I have a high pain tolerance, I have a fear of getting hurt, so I always tried to get out of participating in contact sports.
What was your favorite day on the school week?
Does anyone have a favorte day on a school week? If I have to have one, it will have to be Friday because it’s the weekend.
Did you have one teacher for a variety of subjects, or separate teachers for each?
I had one teacher for all my classes in elementary school and then separate teachers for each subject when I graduated to the 6th grade AKA middle school.

Having few friends in school is very common. Some people find it hard to connect

Thanks for joining in and sharing your world. I didn’t have many friends at grammar school, mainly because I wasn’t clicky with others from my previous school who passed their 11+ and my other classmates already had their own circle of friends. I had plenty of the fairweather variety though when it came to copying homework and when they got a higher grade than I did I stood up for myself and they were downgraded, but not to the same level as me, because I should not have let them copy my work in the first place! That really brought it home to me about privilege compared to working class families like my own. How can a child do badly when Mummy or Daddy are on the board of Governors?

Ugh, I know of people like that in grade school. Fortunately, no one was copying my homework because no one thought I was good enough for them.

Too bad you didn’t have friends in school, it would have been totally different if you did. But nevertheless, that’s in the past now.

I would imagine so but yes, it’s all in the past now. If it wasn’t so, I wouldn’t be blogging now.

Well, than it ain’t too bad that the situation unfolded that way, if you wouldn’t be blogging if it wasn’t for that. 😊
