Can you swim?
I am somewhat of a self-taught swimmer. My swimming technique more or less resemble someone snorkeling. As hard as I try, I can’t hold my breath under water for long enough before I start hyperventilating. So I must wear a mask that covers my nose to swim. That was a rather a long answer for a simple question. Short answer is, sort of.
If so, do you prefer a pool, river or the sea? If not, will you paddle or dip your toes?
I prefer a pool with heated water. I think it’s the cold water that makes my heart pound because of the feeling of discomfort. If I don’t swim, I still prefer a pool in which I can walk around.

Did you have outings to the beach as a child?
Yes, but always only for a short time. My mom never likes to linger in one place for long before either moving to another place or wanting to go home. So the outings at the beach were never like laying on a blanket and basking in the sun kind of thing. It was walk to the water, feel the water between my toes, play a game of escaping the waves, and then leave. 30 minutes max.
Do you like cotton candy (candyfloss)?
I’ve only probably had it once or twice my whole life. It’s sticky, sweet, and melt in my mouth. I loved it as a child. These days, I would stay away from such things because of my braces.

It’s good to be able to swim. I never learned and I think I should have

Learning to swim was mandatory when I went to school in China. We learn it in kindergarten, that was when I discovered my fear. I’m glad it’s not mandatory elsewhere.

In an Islamic society, swimming means being fully clad so it’s not an easy thing to do.
