Friday Fictioneers: Martian Neighbor

Here’s a diary entry from a fictional me:

Dear Diary,

It’s been 6 months since the Martians landed on Earth. Officially. Unofficially, I don’t believe the “6 months” story.

These “little green men” are shape-shifters, they can be anyone – your friend, neighbor, even the postman. Suspicious, I decided to test my neighbor, Susan, who recently gifted me a set of beautiful glassware.

I waited until it was dark to test out my theory that Susan is a Martian. I shined a black light (the same light that detects blood) at the glassware set and it glowed green. I couldn’t believe it, my neighbor’s a Martian.

Sincerely,

Long-time Earthling
