How about a story about a crazy ex…
“Third time’s charm,” he muttered as he walked away.
“Don’t you walk away from me.” She yelled, “You know I don’t believe in coincidences. We’ll be back together soon enough. You just watch.”
He continued walking away from her, toward the parking lot, not sorry to had spent $10 on parking, if it got the job done, he hoped.
It was third time he had tried to end things with her. The last two times they’ve broken up, they somehow reconciled despite his reluctance. “Ugh, like a bad toenail fungus, keeps coming back. Let’s hope it doesn’t come back again.”

I see it more like curiosity and probably a little crazy optimism

If she was an ex, why in earth did he meet her again? Perhaps he’s the crazy one.

Or maybe he’s just optimistic. Or maybe he kept wondering if it was him but finally realizing that it’s not him.

“Ugh, like a bad toenail fungus, keeps coming back.” What a line! 🙂 He needs to put his foot down hard. Maybe invest in some good anti-fungal cream?

Haha! That’s it, he needs to be firm. Put his foot down the next time she comes back.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think there’s something about that toenail fungus he can’t resist and they’ll wind up back together again. I have to say that even though he probably had reasons to end it with her, driving her to the beach and then leaving her there was kind of cold!
“like a bad toenail fungus, keeps coming back.” That’s a great line!

Thank you. 🙂 I agree, there must be something about her that is making him go back to her every time.
