#WeekendCoffeeShare – Welcome November!

If we were having coffee, I would welcome you to #weekendcoffeeshare, which is hosted by the lovely Natalie of Natalie the Explorer. Let’s grab a drink and have a chat!

What do you know, another month in 2024 has come to an end. In about 60 days, 2024 will come to end and 2025 will begin.

October was an odd month in my opinion and I don’t mean every October, I mean October 2024. It was definitely warmer than normal. It didn’t become chilly until the last week or so. Because of my autoimmune problems, I feel the cold more than normal people but even then, the chilliness didn’t really hit me until probably this week.

I can’t really say much happened in October. Yes, I went autumn color chasing at the beginning of the month. I did not feel the autumn vibe this year as much as the previous year. I don’t know why but I felt like something was missing. Maybe it was intensity of the autumn colors on the leaves? Or maybe the trees looked like it was a in a bad need of a drink? I don’t know if it would’ve made a difference if I traveled to a different spot for autumn colors.

Th biggest thing in October was getting my braces off. I finally got them off on Halloween. My orthodontist was actually reluctant to take them off. He was trying to get one of my top teeth out from behind my bottom teeth. That was a stubborn tooth that after months of wearing elastics, it wouldn’t move. Thankfully, he asked me to decide whether to continue to try to move that tooth or to proceed with brace removal.

I chose to proceed to remove my braces.

I ended up having a permanent retainer installed on my bottom teeth while having a clear aligner made for the upper teeth. The aligner, so far, has been very difficult to put on and remove but the assistant told me that, like a pair of new shoes, I just need to break it in. I really hope that this is the case. I have to wear the clear retainer all the time except brushing my teeth and eating for 1 months before switching to night-time.

Somehow, I have a feeling that this will be a difficult endeavor for me. Hopefully, I will persevere and wear this aligner for the duration of November.

I call these next 2 months the holiday months as there’s not much to look forward to other than the two biggest holidays of the year – Thanksgiving and Christmas. It will also be the darkest months of the year. The day after Christmas is when the day starts to lengthen again, so I’ll look forward to that day.

I appreciate you stopping by. Until next we chat. 🙂
