Under the mid-morning sun, he stood over the chalk-white corpse of a woman that had been fished from the pool. She looked more like a porcelain doll than a person, lying there in her red dress.
He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. It’s too early for this, he thought, fighting a hangover from the night before.
“Who discovered the body?” He asked to no one in particular.
“The boyfriend,” the CSI with the fancy camera replied, tilting his head toward the man talking to the other detective.
“Accidental drowning or murder?”
After a moment, the CSI answered, “Murder.”

Yes! For some reason, thrillers like to make them the suspect every time.

The only thing I didn’t like about this story was that you were limited to 100 words because I would have enjoyed a few hundred more! I really liked the tight hardboiled writing on this one.

100 words make hard work to make this a complete story. I can certainly write a few hundreds more words.

WEll, somebody had to be murdered or it wouldn’t be Friday Fiction. There’s plenty of intrigue here. I hope you know the answer!
