Six Sentence Story: Bond

“I’m innocent,” I cried with actual tears as the police officer lowered my head into the back of the police cruiser.

“Cry me a river,” the officer said before slamming the door shut and getting into the driver’s seat, “Dispatch, I’ve apprehended the suspect and en route back to the station,” he said into his radio and clicked off after the dispatch lady gave a “Got it, Officer, drive safe.”

This was not how I wanted to spend my last weekend before heading back to college, oh, why the hell did I left the campus in the first place, my cozy single room dorm, oh yeah, because my sister called me and said we should bond.

Bond, my ass, I should have known her definition of “bond” is different from mine, what I didn’t see coming was her throwing me under the bus. How the hell did she plant that baggie in my jacket pocket? Great, now, I’m heading to jail, my parents will have to sell their valuables at the bail bondsman to get me out, and then what?

Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Bond”.
