Share Your World – Week of November 18, 2024

What brings you the most comfort: food, friends, a good movie, pets, a walk on the beach/in the park, something else.

It’s hard to say. What brings me comfort varies from day to day. I define comfort by whatever means that can get my anxiety and stress level down. Whatever to shut the voice up in my head from playing awful scenarios.

Most of us love our food. Is there something you like but know you shouldn’t have it?

I love fried foods and junk foods. Unfortunately, I can’t eat it without consequences. Several weeks ago, there was lunch served at my work – sandwiches and kettle chips. I love kettle chips. I find that it’s a better version of the regular potato chips. I only had several pieces that day and immediately, mouth sores began to develop that very day. It happens every time I eat fried foods. I either get cold sores at the corner of my mouth or sores inside my mouth.

Do you prefer a garden of flowers or growing vegetables, or do you not have a garden?

If you asked me this in 2022, I would’ve told you I prefer a garden full of vegetables. I’ve come a long way since then. These days, I prefer a mix of flowers and vegetables in my garden. I find a vegetable garden will only work if there are flowers.

Would you like to be rich, I mean REALLY rich?

Being really rich would be nice at first. I can pay off every debt I owe and get all the material things to satisfy my wants while make some generous donations to several non-profit organization. But, then what? Retire? As much as I love to have an abundance of cash, I feel if I can be rich, I’d like to be rich in other things like flowers, vegetables, and happiness.

  1. Great answers.

I think if one were rich there would be a lot of work involved to stay rich. But certainly a fulfilling life is worth more than wealth.

Sorry about the reaction to your favourite foods. Fortunately there are enough ‘healthy’ foods that are tasty and keep you fit.

    1. I agree, one would need to learn to invest to stay rich but from my experience, growing money is not as fun and rewarding as growing my own food.
I also agree that there are plenty of yummy healthy foods out there but once in a while, everyone needs some junk food. 🙂
