Share Your World – Week of January 13, 2025

1. Of all the household chores (laundry, dusting, hoovering, washing up, cooking etc) which is your least favorite?

They are called “chores” for a reason! I can’t even begin to rank least favorites among house chores as all of them are my least favorite. The two that are tied for first have to be vacuuming and cleaning the hard-wood floors.

2.  With food prices going up all the time, do you buy less, find substitutes, or don’t buy at all?

I read somewhere that food prices, particularly vegetable and fruit prices, are set to go up even more in 2025. My mom and aunt have been buying the bulk of the groceries. I buy food, too, but mostly only for the things I eat since they don’t really like the things I eat like deli meats for sandwiches, cheese, and yogurt.

With prices going up though, I’m definitely buying less but since I eat mostly vegetables and fruit, when the days warm up, I will have my own vegetables and fruit to harvest, so I won’t be buying at all. For now though, as we are still in the middle of winter, I’ll harvest when I can and buy when it’s on sale.

3.  Do you enjoy meals with left overs?

We rarely have leftovers these days. We used to have plenty of leftover for the next day when we were going to the office on a daily basis. That leftover was lunch. I never enjoyed those meals, not since when I was in college and had to bring lunch to the campus. There’s a weird smell to leftovers once it’s been in the microwave, which I don’t like. If I have leftovers these days, I will typically reheat them over the stove as opposed to the microwave.

4. Do you prefer bagels, crusty bread, or toast?

They are all so good but I think I will have to go with bagels as long as the center is pillowy soft.

  1. I like the fruit bagels, but was put off by the amount of Slimming World syns each one had. Trust me to prefer the one with the highest! Thanks for joining in and sharing your world. I still have some of our tomatoes in the freezer and we have just started the last bag of our onions which have lasted really well.

    1. Hmm… I don’t think I’ve heard of a fruit bagel before. I’ve only ever had blueberry bagel, plain bagel, cheese bagel, and everything bagel. The blueberry and everything bagel are my favorite.
I have already finished all the produce from the garden. For some reason, none of my produce keeps well.

  2. I haven’t found much bread that I don’t like but my favorite lately is brioche buns. They’re a little pricey and I freeze most and eat them instead of sandwich bread for a little variety. It’s the crack of bread, seriously addictive. I’m pretty good at freezing almost everything.
