The Unicorn Challenge – A Suprise Awaits

For the final Unicorn Challenge 😭

Sadie sighed and gave her art gallery a look-around. She couldn’t believe it. Five years and just because of one missed rent deadline, she’s evicted.

“Sorry,” her landlady had said a week ago, “if I let you pay your rent a day late, I’ll have to let my other tenants do it as well. Sorry, a deadline is a deadline.”

How the hell did she find someone this quick anyway? Sadie wondered. Had she been counting on me to miss my deadline?

“What is happening here?” A voice from behind startled Sadie. She turned around to find one of her loyal customers, Jean, standing by the door. “Don’t tell me you’re out of business.”

“Hi Jean, I’m afraid I am. I have until the end of the week to clean out. Apparently, there’s no missing the deadline when it comes to paying the rent.”

“Well, are you going to set up shop somewhere else?”

Sadie shrugged. “Maybe, or maybe I’ll hang up my artistic hat and do something practical. Maybe something that won’t make me lose sleep over money.”

“Oh,” Jean frowned, as if he was expecting Sadie to have a grand plan up her sleeves. “So you’re just going to retire art? What if I tell you I have a place for you? Rent free.”

“I’d say that’s too good to be true. There’s no such thing as free lunch in this world.”

“Meet me at the corner of Second and Main tomorrow. I promise you’d be surprised.”
