Slowly, Teri folded the clothes on her bed, mulling over what her roommate, Shelley said earlier in the day as they were getting ready for another round of Shelley’s workout videos, “…if you don’t, you can already come and work with me, we’re hiring…” What would I even do there, Teri wondered, it’s not like I know my way around a spreadsheet.
Shelley’s a finance analyst, she plays with numbers for a living, and spend just every minute of the day staring at a spreadsheet, making number magically appear and disappear. Teri barely passed the lowest math course in college, so, unless, Shelley’s company is hiring someone who doesn’t need to know about math, there’s zero chance Teri would apply for the job.
Suddenly, Teri was no longer interested in folding her clothes, instead, she yanked open the door to her bedroom, and crossed the hall and knocked on Shelley’s door. When Shelley opened the door, Teri blurted, “What position is your company hiring?”
Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Fold”.

There might be a job for Teri after all.

Even a numbers place needs other jobs done in the office, I hope she finds something.
