Hope everyone had a good weekend! Beth from Wandering Dawgs is the host for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge and she has picked the theme of Wings.
Today is the first day back to work for me after a 4-day Thanksgiving long weekend. This Thanksgiving has been one of, if not THE most memorable Thanksgiving. My fun aunt and I took a road trip south to the Grand Canyon before making our way northward to Kanab, Utah, before making the 5-hours drive home. At the Grand Canyon, I got to look at the canyon at a different perspective – from the sky.
When I was planning this trip, my aunt suggested a helicopter tour. Honestly, even though I’ve never ridden in a helicopter before, looking at it, I feel like I’m just dangling in the sky like a marionette dangling by a string and that feels frightening to me. Thankfully, I couldn’t feel a helicopter that fit our schedule but I got the next best thing. It’s still a plane but with actual wings that don’t make me feel frightened.
So at 4:30 AM on Thanksgiving day, we left the comfort of my house and hopped into the car for Grand Canyon. We stopped quite a few times along the way to admire the scenery along Highway 89A and arrived at the Grand Canyon Airport just 30 minutes shy of check-in time and about 45 minutes shy of boarding.
I was nervous and excited as we boarded the plane. My aunt and I had the entire front row to ourselves. Not only did I got to peek into the captain’s cockpit, which was very fascinating, but I also got to see the captain operate the plane. The best part, though, was the view outside the window.

Yinglan, what a wonderful experience! The views of the canyon are amazing! Your post is perfect for the challenge! Thanks for participating in the wings challenge!
