Jenny looks up at the sky, the way the moon glows gives off a vibe that she’s in another universe. She and her friends have been hiking for most of the day, searching for the spot marked on a GPS to perform a sacred ritual.
If someone was to ask Jenny six months ago if she would be hiking to the middle of nowhere to perform a ritual, Jenny would’ve laughed in your face. She didn’t believe in such thing as rituals and crystals. The only ritual she believed in was sitting in a tub of bubbles lined with candles accompanied with a suspense novel.
It wasn’t until she witnessed the impossible happening before her eyes that she finally believed.
“I’m pretty sure we’re here,” Kori says, staring at the GPS on her palm, “according to the GPS, I’m standing right on the spot.”
“All right,” Annabelle says, “then let’s get set up.”
Relieved that the hike is temporarily done, Jenny drops her backpack on the ground and stares at the blood red moon.
