
“Were those stairs there before?” Hannah wondered as she steadied herself. Mere moments ago, Hannah was talking to an officer. “But my aunt’s been sending me postcards from this address for many years.
“Then maybe she’s senile,” explained the officer, “I’m telling you, miss, there’s no such address as 71 Le Petit Champlain here.”
That was when a rumble broke out followed by a tremor. Earthquake? Hannah wondered as she raced to hold onto something. As the earthquake subsided, she suddenly found herself staring down a set of icy stairs at the address on her aunt’s postcard.
