Have you suffered from buyer’s remorse?
Do you buy such things, or even more expensive ones like a car or a house, that you later regret? Can you return/ or get a refund on things that you buy and find that they really aren’t what you needed?

Even though I’ve been told I have good restraints, when it comes to shopping, I’ve made quite a few bad choices that led to buyer’s remorse.
When I began to have a steady stream of income from my paycheck in 2018, I splurged on a silver ring. Other than a jade buddha necklace given to me by my grandmother, I’ve never bought jewelry for myself before. One night, there was a gathering at church. It was lady’s night and a lady at church had a jewelry. It wasn’t her jewelry she was selling, she was acting as a third-party seller for a jewelry company.
At the end of the night, everyone ordered at least one thing. I’ve never much of a jewelry person. Living with my mom, jewelry is frown-upon. She wears no jewelry, not even her wedding ring when she was married to my step-dad. How was I supposed to explain to her?
As I looked over the catalog, I did not feel attracted to any of the jewelry. I completely skipped the earring section since my ears aren’t pierced. I went to the ring section and my eyes bulged at the price tags of each one. It doesn’t feel very expensive now but in my mind’s eye back then, every dollar felt like a hundred dollars back then.
Chalk it up to peer pressure and the fact that I really wanted to own something different, the ring arrived. It was surprisingly heavy and not what I thought. Other than it looked pretty, it felt quite an useless item, in my opinion. Alas, there’s no returns and refunds. To this day, it’s still sitting in my old purse.
