“Honey, eat your breakfast,” Ted’s wife, Doreen, commanded, “what are you doing?”
“Taking a picture of my beautiful breakfast, made by my lovely wife.”
“Why?”
Ted shrugged, “Maybe I’ll paint it later.”
Doreen shook her head, “Paint it later,” she repeated slowly, “has retirement made you a little loony? You’ve never painted a day in your life.”
“How do you know? How do I know I’m not naturally good at art without trying it? Weren’t you the one who used to tell the kids, ‘you won’t know you’re good at something until you tried’?”
Doreen sighed with resignation, “You’re right.”

Actually, in my youth I did paint for awhile. I gave it up for obvious reasons.

I tried to paint too but I found out I couldn’t draw even if my life depends on it. I’m creative in words and photographs, not in drawing and painting.
