It was Monday morning and Teri sat at her desk, feeling especially distracted as her mind concentrated hard on forgetting a guy who might as well be a ghost because as hard as Teri searched on the world wide web, there was not a trace of the guy named Adrian, which it’s impossible since he’s an actor – a profession that required one to sell oneself for work. She shook her head, trying to return to the present, you have to forget about him, she told herself as the phone rang.
“Hello, how can I help you” Teri said, a little too tersely, before clearing her throat and repeated, “Hello, to whom may I direct your call?”
“You’ve been trying to find me,” an all-too-familiar voice spoke on the other end of the phone.
The white hot steamy annoyance-slash-anger Teri was feeling a moment earlier quickly turned to cold dreary fear, “Who is this?” Teri asked, even though she knew perfectly well who it was but then, a part of her wondered, is this the real him or is he playing a part – a facade?
Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Steam”.

Ah! He knows she’s been trying to find him. Looking forward to what happens next.

Is he even real or is she hallucinating ? Or is he known by another name and this is more acting?

Haha, I am wondering about that myself… Whether to make him real or not…

I don’t think he is an actor in a classical sense, I too smell a plot twist coming….
maybe it has something to do with his work?
I wonder, and I wonder why he came back to Teri.
Great story, keeps me curious and waiting for the next installment.

But why was she looking for him?
When he found her, she seemed to dread it.
